The Philadelphia Eagles’ season has been quite the roller coaster. They started off the season 2-2 going into their bye week. Their two losses came from the Atlanta Falcons in a close game with a final score of 22-21. They then lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a blowout score of 33-16. The two early losses caused concern about the team’s success going forward, especially since they went all in during the offseason by signing superstar running back Saquon Barkely. However, those concerns quickly went away after the team’s bye week, when they finished the season with a 14-3 record. Their gamble on Saquon Barkley proved to pay off, as he finished the season with 2,005 rushing yards: the eighth in a single season ever. Other players who were vital to the Eagles’ success this year include Zach Baun, Cooper DeJean, and Quinyon Mitchell. It would also be inconsiderate to not mention Jalen Hurts and the consistency he has played with this year. Fast forward to February 9, 2025, and the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. The Eagles defeated the Chiefs in a blowout with a final score of 40-22. All day, the Eagles defense dominated the Chiefs offensive line and was a complete game changer. The Eagles defense had 6 sacks and two interceptions, and held the Chiefs to zero points in the first half. The second half was very similar to the first and the Eagles continued to dominate, but gave up a few garbage time touchdowns towards the end. With this win, most doubts about the Eagles have been silenced, especially those questioning Jalen Hurts’ ability to play in important games. Now however, the Eagles have nothing left to prove, and can enjoy sitting atop the NFL.
